Common questions

Where are my documents kept?

On your iPhone, in DocBindr's own storage. There is no account and no server, so nothing is uploaded. That also means the app cannot recover documents for you — if you rely on them, keep your iPhone backed up.

I bought PRO but it isn't unlocked

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. PRO is a one-time purchase, so restoring is free and can be done on any device you own.

What does the free version limit?

Free covers up to 15 documents. Everything else — scanning, expiry reminders, PDF form filling, reimbursement reports and PDF export — works without paying. PRO removes the document limit and allows several receipts in a single document.

My expiry reminders aren't arriving

Check three things: that Expiry Reminders is on in the app's Settings, that the document actually has an expiry date, and that notifications are allowed for DocBindr in iOS Settings → Notifications. Reminders are delivered at 9am local time on each lead day you selected.

How do I export a reimbursement report?

Go to Settings → Reimbursements, or tap the reimbursement card on the home screen. Choose Export PDF for everything, or Share Report on a single month. You get an A4 PDF with each receipt's thumbnail, date, amount and claim status.

Why won't it save a photo of several receipts?

DocBindr keeps one receipt per document so claim totals stay accurate — a single photo of a dozen receipts would otherwise be read as one amount. PRO lifts this and keeps them together in one document, itemised in the report. On the free plan, photograph receipts one at a time.

Can I fill any PDF form?

DocBindr fills PDFs that carry real form fields, and it can also detect the boxed comb fields printed on many bank and government forms that have no fields at all. A form that is only a flat scan with no detectable boxes can still be stored and shared, just not filled in.

How do I delete everything?

Deleting a document removes its file as well as its record. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes everything DocBindr stored.
